An NMVTIS report is a report of a vehicle's title and odometer history. Perhaps most importantly, it tells consumers whether or not a vehicle's title has a “brand” on it such as “junk', “salvage”, “flood”, or other similar events that could make a vehicle less desirable. Sources such as state titling entities, automobile recyclers, junk and salvage yards, and insurance carriers can share information into one system so you can be informed prior to your purchase. An NMVTIS report does not include vehicle repair histories, recall information, and other care and maintenance data. There are providers that do provide this information for a fee such as Carfax and Experian Autocheck. If you would like one of these reports, you can access and pay for them on their websites.
